PROVIDENCE, R.I. /October 2012. On Thursday, October 18th on Gallery Night, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, Gallery Z will host the opening reception for a solo exhibition of new artwork from Anthony Tomaselli. An artist talk and demonstration will also be held on Saturday, October 27 from 2-4 pm.

Anthony Tomselli (b. 1954) is a Providence artist to the core. He truly loves his craft and his subject matters are informed by the eccentric landscapes of New England. He often selects the Providence skyline as his muse. His goal, however, is not to create an exact representation, but rather to connect the viewer to the soul of the work or memory of such a place. Tomaselli is currently represented by 9 galleries on the East Coast.

The exhibition will consist of over 50 pieces of original art works never exhibited before with different sizes priced at $600 per piece. This will be Gallery Z's 119th exhibit in 11 years, and runs from October 11th through November 10th, 2012.

Tomaselli received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art at Rhode Island College in 1976 and went on to study architecture extensively at the Boston Architectural Center. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout New England, and he has over a dozen collections, including one at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Tomaselli is a highly acclaimed artist who has accumulated a long list of awards and honors; the most recent being 1st Prize Members Exhibit at the prestigious Providence Art Club, where he currently teaches painting.

"My wish for all whom I engage in life with is this...for you to feel a bit of the passion that I feel for life and painting. I wish for you to feel the spirit of life flowing through your being as it does to me when brush meets canvas." Anthony Tomaselli

Additionally, in celebration of Latino Heritage Month, Gallery Z will be exhibiting work by Dominican artist Julianny Ariza in the collection room. Julianny attended the National School of Visual Art and the Altos de Chavon School of Design in the Dominican Republic. Julianny is currently the Visiting Artist in Residence at AS220, Providence. Her work will be on display at Gallery Z through October 15th.

Also, on display in Gallery Z's collection room hundreds of pieces of original artworks in different mediums from over one hundred artists from around the world.
