ArtMobile Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Thursday, February 16th*, 2012 at 6:00 PM, Gallery Z will host the official unveiling of "Moby" the ArtMobile.

The Gallery Z ArtMobile is the latest concept for bringing fine art to the streets of Providence and beyond. Bérge Zobian, Gallery Z Director, created the concept of the ArtMobile, a Public Art Project, to use it as a vehicle to bring visual arts as well as performance art, film projection and installation art to people who might not have the opportunity to visit a gallery or museum.

The mission of this ArtMobile Public Art Project is to bring art to communities and neighborhoods where art is not available or accessible. This includes and is not limited to public and private schools, public libraries, college campuses, vacant bank parking lots and nursing homes.

Join Gallery Z on Thursday, February 16th, 2012 at 6:00 PM for the “Christening Ceremony” of the ArtMobile. This ceremony will be held in the Scialo Bros. Bakery parking lot next to Gallery Z. The official Christening will be performed by President Edward Angell Jr, and his two sons Edward Angell III and Raymond Angell of L Sweet Lumber, established in 1885, located in Providence, Rhode Island.

This ceremony will be held on the occasion of our 11th year anniversary and our 111th exhibition. In conjunction with the unveiling of the ArtMobile, the Gallery will be celebrating with a reception for the exhibit: “The Art and Soul of Rhode Island: Home Grown Creations from Gallery Z’s Stable of Talented Artists”. This exhibit will feature over 40 Rhode Island-based artists and will run from January 12th through February 25th.

The ArtMobile Public Art Project could not be possible without the help of 111 Kickstarter backers, over 30 private donors, and the following corporate sponsors:
